Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who has been elected three times as MP from Srikakulam and is currently serving as Union Civil Aviation Minister for the past two years, is likely to contest the next elections as an MLA, according to party sources.
In fact, he was ready to contest from Narasannapeta in the 2024 elections itself. However, the party leadership asked him to contest as MP. After his victory, he was given a Union minister post, which strengthened his position in the party.
Within the party, Ram Mohan Naidu has also been made a national vice-president, indicating his growing importance. He is now considered a key member in the team of minister Nara Lokesh.
There is also talk that in the next elections, tickets will largely be given to leaders close to Lokesh. If the Telugu Desam Party returns to power, there is speculation that Lokesh could become the Chief Minister.
In that scenario, leaders like Ram Mohan Naidu may be fielded as MLAs to support Lokesh at the state level. There are also chances that he may contest from Tekkali, which is currently represented by his uncle Atchannaidu.
