A day after politician Borugadda Anil Kumar created a ruckus at the YSR Congress Party’s central office in Tadepalli and levelled serious allegations against party coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, controversial actress and outspoken YSRCP supporter Sri Reddy launched an attack on the party leadership.
Sri Reddy publicly criticised the party and those close to party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that long-time supporters were being ignored while newcomers were being given prominence.
During a Facebook Live session, Sri Reddy expressed anger over what she described as the party’s failure to recognise those who had stood by the YSRCP during difficult times.
She claimed that activists who defended the party despite political attacks and personal risks were now being sidelined, while those who joined shortly before the elections were being rewarded with important positions.
Her criticism was mainly directed at television anchor Shyamala, who has recently become more visible at YSRCP programmes.
Sri Reddy questioned why Shyamala, who she said began appearing on the party’s “Siddham” campaign platforms only a few months before the elections, was now being given considerable importance within the organisation.
She alleged that people who had worked for the party from its early days were being deliberately marginalised.
Sri Reddy also claimed that Shyamala had imposed conditions for participating in party events and alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was personally welcoming such individuals despite the controversies surrounding them.
She further criticised the decision to seat Shyamala alongside senior leaders such as former minister R.K. Roja at public programmes, saying it reflected the leadership’s disregard for loyal supporters.
Speaking emotionally, Sri Reddy said her public support for the YSRCP had caused her serious personal and financial losses.
She alleged that her YouTube channels had repeatedly been reported because of her political views, affecting her income. She also claimed that she had received threats that made it difficult for her to leave her home.
Sri Reddy denied allegations that she had sought financial assistance from party leaders during difficult times, describing such claims as false propaganda.
Escalating her attack, she claimed that she possessed personal information about Shyamala and warned that she would disclose it at an appropriate time.
She also criticised a YouTuber identified as journalist Sai, accusing him of using her name for financial gain by producing videos attacking her.
