A fresh political survey by poll analyst Praveen Pullatla has raised questions over the Telugu Desam Party-led alliance’s position in parts of the Anantapur region.
According to the survey assessment, the alliance is facing adverse political winds in Penukonda, Puttaparthi, Dharmavaram and Kadiri constituencies in Sri Sathya Sai district, with corrective measures suggested well ahead of the 2029 Assembly elections.
Praveen Pullatla has also mentioned “red zone alert” for the wider Anantapur region, in his tweet.
His assessment identifies Anantapur Urban, along with Singanamala, Tadipatri and Guntakal, as constituencies requiring particular attention.
He also described the Anantapur Urban MLA’s performance as disappointing and placed the other three constituencies in a “high-risk zone,” arguing that the alliance could lose ground if corrective steps are not taken.
The assessment is notable because the wider Anantapur region has traditionally been regarded as an important stronghold for the TDP.
The latest survey claims, however, suggest that the party’s position may be less secure than its historical image indicates.
With the 2029 elections still some distance away, these findings should be viewed as an assessment of the current political mood rather than a prediction of the eventual electoral outcome.
