Several discussions are currently taking place across social media and mainstream media about what may happen if Vijay has to prove his majority to form the government.
It is known that TVK is falling short of the majority mark by just a few seats.
Soon after the results, reports suggested that Congress may move away from its alliance with the DMK and extend support to TVK with its five seats.
However, even that support alone may not be enough to comfortably form the government, as it still does not touch the magic mark of 118.
At the same time, Left parties such as the CPI and CPM are reportedly inclined to remain with the DMK alliance.
Amid this uncertainty, political circles are buzzing with speculation that some leaders from the ADMK could move towards TVK.
There is also another strong political narrative emerging that both the DMK and ADMK may attempt to destabilize a Vijay-led government if it comes to power with outside support from rival leaders.
However, many observers believe such a strategy could badly backfire on the traditional parties.
If the DMK and ADMK are seen joining hands, directly or indirectly, only to stop a rising third force like TVK, it may generate a massive sympathy wave in Vijay’s favour.
Indian political history has repeatedly shown that attempts to politically corner an emerging leader often end up strengthening public support for that leader in the next election.
If voters perceive any coordinated effort to unfairly pull down Vijay’s government, it could ultimately help him secure an even bigger and clearer mandate in the future.
