The strained relationship between C Joseph Vijay and his wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, has been public knowledge for several months now.
Reports of Sangeeta filing for divorce in December 2025 created a major political storm ahead of the elections.
However, the controversy did little to affect Vijay’s political rise, as he went on to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
What has now become a major talking point on social media is the absence of Vijay’s children — son Jason Sanjay and daughter Sasha — from his swearing-in ceremony held in Chennai.
While many did not expect Sangeeta to attend the event due to the ongoing divorce proceedings, fans were surprised that the children also skipped the historic occasion.
Their absence has triggered widespread discussion among Vijay’s supporters, with many expressing disappointment online.
Earlier reports suggested that Vijay had assured Sangeeta that he would continue to financially support the children and take responsibility for their future despite the separation.
Adding further buzz to the event was the presence of actress Trisha Krishnan, who has long been rumoured to be close to Vijay.
Her appearance at the ceremony once again fuelled speculation in Tamil media circles.
