Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday categorically declared that there would be no compromise on the status of Hyderabad after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons here, TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao said that his party had already gave a nine-page document to the Group of Ministers (GoM) explaining party’s stand on Telangana.
In Tuesday’s meeting, attended by TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao and Secretary General K Keshav Rao, the GoM had been clearly told that there would be no comprise on the question of delegating any administration to the Centre on Hyderabad after formation of Telangana.
Just like 28 others States, the 29th State of Telangana should enjoy and exercise full administrative powers on its capital Hyderabad. Any change in its status or interference will not be accepted, he said.
KTR said that the GoM should categorically condemn all speculations and reports on the status of Hyderabad.
However, he said that Hyderabad could serve as the transitory or interim capital for both the States till Andhra makes its own capital.
Further, he said that the process of Telangana formation should be expedited and the Bill should be introduced in the forthcoming winter session of the Parliament.
The TRS leader also slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for sending a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs against Telangana formation.
He said that the report, prepared at the behest of some Seemandhra leaders, was sent to the Centre by the Chief Minister with an aim to stall ongoing process of Telangana formation.
Stating that the ministers from Telangana region were not involved or approached in preparation of the report, he asked whether the Chief Minister got any approval from the State Cabinet before sending it to the Centre on behalf of the State Government.
