YS Chowdhary, an industrialist and Rajya Sabha MP from TDP. He was the first among those sworn-in today to take his oath in English.
Jayant Sinha, son of senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, also took oath as MoS. He represents Hazaribagh constituency of Jharkhand. Given his academic career- an IIT passout and a graduate from Harvard Business School could be given MoS Finance.
Olympian medalist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was also sworn-in as MoS. A first-time MP, he represents Jaipur Rural. He earlier served in the Indian Army.
Singer-turned-politician Babul Supriyo, who represents Asansol constituency of West Bengal was also given MoS status.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, first-time MP from Fatehpur, UP was also sworn-in as MoS. In June this year, she was attacked by four men when returning from a function at Avas Vikas colony.
BJP’s prominent Dalit face in Punjab, Vijay Sampla was sworn-in as MoS. He represents Hoshiarpur constituency and is closely linked with the RSS. Interestingly, after his schooling, Sampla worked as a plumber in Saudi Arabia before returning to India.
Dattatreya sworn-in as MoS (Independent)
Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP’s Telangana head was sworn-in as MoS Independent Charge at the swearing-in ceremony. He represents the Secunderabad constituency and is vice president of the BJP.
