The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national leadership has begun implementing a long-term grassroots strategy in Telangana as it seeks to emerge as a serious contender for power in the next Assembly elections.
According to sources, the BJP is expected to adopt an organisational model in Telangana similar to the one it used in states such as Haryana and West Bengal.
The strategy aims to strengthen the party’s presence at the booth and household levels over the next two years.
Party sources said the BJP plans to deploy leaders across cluster-based organisational units and launch an extensive outreach campaign under the slogan of taking the party to every household.
“The initiative is designed to expand the party’s voter base while building a stronger grassroots network before the next elections,” sources said.
The BJP is expected to begin by consolidating its position in urban centres, particularly in the Greater Hyderabad region, before extending its influence into district-level and rural constituencies.
Senior national leaders are also expected to visit Telangana more frequently as part of the strategy.
Political observers note that the BJP has previously achieved notable success through hyper-local campaigning in constituencies such as Dubbak and Huzurabad, as well as in parts of the erstwhile Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts.
The party now appears intent on replicating and expanding that model across the state.
Sources indicate that the BJP believes there is growing dissatisfaction with the Congress government and is positioning itself as a stronger alternative to both the Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
The party’s strategy reportedly focuses on attracting neutral voters while simultaneously expanding its traditional support base. A key element of the campaign involves social engineering and community outreach.
The BJP is reportedly identifying influential leaders from various social groups and assigning them responsibility for mobilisation efforts in their respective regions.
Special attention is being given to Backward Class communities, including the Munnuru Kapu, Padmashali, Yadav, Goud and Mudiraj communities.
The party is also engaging with leaders from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes at the local level.
In addition to physical outreach, the BJP plans to strengthen its digital presence and increase voter engagement through social media platforms.
Party leaders are expected to receive detailed guidance on implementing these strategies in the coming weeks.
With preparations already underway and national leaders likely to intensify their engagement in the state, political analysts say the BJP’s evolving strategy could significantly influence Telangana’s political landscape ahead of the next Assembly elections.
