A 28-year-old man from Hyderabad died in a skydiving accident in Massachusetts after a sudden gust of wind reportedly disturbed his parachute during landing.
The victim was identified as Mani Chandra Teja Gaddam. The accident took place at Jumptown Skydiving in Orange, Massachusetts, on July 12.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mani Chandra Teja was an alumnus of ICFAI University in Hyderabad.
Local media reports said emergency responders reached the skydiving facility at around 4 p.m. after receiving information about a serious accident.
A preliminary investigation found that Mani fell nearly 30 feet after an unexpected gust of wind affected his parachute while he was attempting to land.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The Massachusetts State Police and the Orange Police Department have launched an investigation into the incident.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.
According to local news portal Boston.com, this is the second fatal accident reported at the same skydiving facility within a year.
In October 2025, a 62-year-old man from Connecticut died after a midair collision involving two experienced skydivers at the facility.
