A special court dealing with Anti-Corruption Bureau cases in Hyderabad has granted permission to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to undertake an official foreign tour.
The court also ordered the release of his passport, which had been in its custody in connection with the pending cash-for-vote case.
The Chief Minister had approached the court seeking the return of his passport and permission to travel abroad on an official visit. After hearing the petition, the court approved the request subject to specific conditions.
According to the court’s order, Revanth Reddy will undertake an official tour from August 17 to September 10, visiting the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany and China.
The visit is aimed at attracting investments, promoting Telangana’s development agenda and holding official meetings with investors, government representatives and business leaders in the four countries.
The ACB court directed the Chief Minister to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh along with a surety before undertaking the trip.
It also instructed him to submit a detailed travel itinerary in advance, including the countries to be visited, his places of stay and the complete schedule of his official engagements.
The court further directed Revanth Reddy to obtain the necessary political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs before his departure.
After completing the tour, he has been instructed to surrender his passport to the court on or before September 18, 2026.
Revanth Reddy continues to face trial in the 2015 cash-for-vote case, dating back to his tenure in the Telugu Desam Party. He has been named as the principal accused in the case.
