Internal differences within the Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have intensified after controversial flex banners targeting BJP MP Eatala Rajender surfaced on the outskirts of Hyderabad, triggering widespread political debate.
For the past several weeks, reports have suggested widening differences between senior BJP leaders and newly inducted members within the party.
Against this backdrop, flex banners criticising Eatala Rajender appeared on the Medchal Outer Ring Road service road, quickly going viral on social media and drawing sharp reactions from political circles.
The banners carried strong remarks against the BJP MP under the headline, “Your Crying Is A Curse To BJP.”
The content accused Eatala Rajender of expressing dissatisfaction within the party after allegedly being denied several key positions, including the Telangana BJP state president post, a chief ministerial projection, and a Union Cabinet berth.
The banners further pointed out that the BJP had already provided Eatala Rajender with significant political opportunities by fielding him as an MLA candidate from two constituencies and later offering him the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha ticket even after electoral setbacks.
The posters also criticised Rajender for reportedly claiming that he won the parliamentary election due to his personal image rather than Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The remarks described such statements as politically unethical.
At the same time, the banners questioned why Eatala Rajender appeared uncomfortable with the growing prominence of other backward class leaders within the party, particularly BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind.
The flexes suggested that Rajender should move beyond the perception that he alone represents the BJP’s BC leadership in Telangana.
As photographs of the banners spread rapidly across television channels and social media platforms, questions arose over who was behind the campaign and what political objective it was intended to achieve.
Responding to the controversy, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao dismissed reports of internal conflict and alleged that rival political parties and outside elements were attempting to create divisions within the BJP because of the party’s growing strength in the state.
He asserted that there were no differences among BJP leaders and accused opponents of trying to damage the party’s unity through deliberate conspiracies.
However, the state BJP chief expressed concern over internal wrangling in the party. “Let us keep our Mann Ki Baat to ourselves.
Let us not expose our feelings outside. It will ultimately damage the party,” Rao said.
