Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday expressed confidence that he would continue as Chief Minister till 2034 and said he would later move to national politics in Delhi after making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the Way2News Conclave 2026 in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy reiterated his loyalty to the Congress leadership, stating that the Gandhi family has deep faith in the country.
He said he shares a close rapport with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
He said he never crosses his political limits and recalled that he had worked in the Telugu Desam Party for ten years.
“Even today, TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu continues to respect me,” he said.
On national politics, the Chief Minister asserted that Rahul Gandhi’s objective is to bring the Congress party back to power and not merely to become Prime Minister.
He declared that Rahul Gandhi would be projected as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the INDIA alliance in the next general elections.
According to him, the Congress would first announce his candidature and later convince the alliance partners.
He said the INDIA bloc would present a comprehensive policy document before the people and seek a mandate based on that agenda.
Claiming that the Congress would remain in power from 2024 to 2034, Revanth Reddy said he would continue to serve Telangana until 2034 and work solely for the people of the state.
“After 2034, I will step down to give opportunities to the next generation. I shall move to New Delhi to serve the nation in the future by sharing my administrative experience. I shall sit in the chair offered by Rahul Gandhi after making him Prime Minister,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister said his government was focused on strengthening institutions. He revealed that he visits districts once every 15 days and spends considerable time mobilising funds for development.
He pointed out that despite becoming Chief Minister, he still lives in the same house he occupied when he was a ZPTC member.
He said nominated posts were being given only to leaders who had genuinely worked hard for the party and cited examples of ordinary citizens and grassroots activists being elevated politically.
The Chief Minister took an indirect dig at the previous BRS government, alleging lack of long-term vision and irregular administrative practices.
He said he spends nearly 18 hours a day reviewing governance with officials, unlike the previous administration which, according to him, held reviews only once in several months.
He also criticised corruption-driven politics, stating that those focused only on tenders and commissions think differently from leaders committed to public welfare.
Revanth Reddy asserted that nobody had ever dared to approach him with offers of kickbacks.
