Thousands of U.S. visa applicants across the world have received emails informing them that their upcoming visa appointments have been cancelled and will be rescheduled only after September 1, 2026.
The US Department of State has introduced a paid pilot programme that allows some business and tourist visa applicants to secure earlier interview appointments by paying an additional fee.
